Joules & Joules Matte Acrylic Paint – Arylide Yellow is a medium, intense, and luminous yellow formulated with Arylide Yellow 5GX pigment (PY74). It presents a warm, bright tone with balanced transparency and moderate tinting strength, ideal for compositions requiring vitality and control in color mixing. Its creamy texture and matte finish provide smooth, even brushstrokes, allowing both dense applications and delicate glazes.
 
Developed in the first half of the 20th century, the Arylide pigment became one of the most important substitutes for cadmium yellows, offering high luminosity, stability, and safety. PY74, in particular, stands out for its balance between saturation and coverage, maintaining intensity under various lighting conditions and excellent performance when mixed with whites and earth tones.
